Y Vote Team

why choose us?

Y Vote is a project by and for young Europeans! 🇪🇺 With each edition, we aim to bring Europe closer to young people and strengthen their understanding of the European Union and the importance of voting!

With our activities, we develop skills, knowledge and motivation of young Europeans to vote in an informed way, we involve them in the democratic processes by discussing current issues and interacting with policymakers, and we empower youth in Europe to take an active role in society.

Since 2009, Y Vote has been organised around the European Elections. Still, this year, we decided to go beyond this democratic process and encourage youth participation in the decision-making process even after the EU has chosen its Parliament. Are you curious about this new edition and our plans for next year? Keep reading!

who are we looking for?

Finance & Fundraising Manager

We are looking for someone with some experience and/or interest in administrative and financial management. If you are familiar with fundraising, budget management or other finance tasks (accounting, reporting, audit, etc.), or you are interested in learning more about any of these functions, while working with a wide range of local and European partners, you are the right person for this role! In other words, you know your way around money and fundraising, always keep the receipts and you are not afraid of financial reports.

Content Manager 2: Research & Podcast

If you are passionate about political activism, civic engagement and the functioning of the European Union and its institutions, try this position! In this role, you will be responsible for doing some research on these topics and helping with workshops, the Political Activism Guide (material on how to be active and motivate others too for engagement with political topics) and the Podcast episodes. You only need a passion for these topics and a bit of interest in research and content creation for materials, articles and events.

Model European Union Manager

Are you interested in the functioning of the European Union and do you love organising events? We plan to organise a Model European Union international event, in collaboration with an AEGEE Local and other external organisations, and we are looking for a coordinator! In case you are not familiar with such an event, a Model EU is a simulation event of the European institutions (mainly the European Parliament and the Council of EU), helping youth to deepen their understanding of the ordinary EU legislative procedure through the learning-by-doing method. It is a multi-day conference, organised in a city in Europe, attended by young people from various countries, taking on roles such as MEPs and country representatives in the Council.

Content Manager 1: Local Actions

This edition of Y Vote will have 2 Content Managers. The first role is dedicated to someone passionate about designing and organising workshops and events, in partnership with local and international stakeholders. In this role, you will work closely with AEGEE Locals and other local and national partners, to ensure the smooth organisation of the workshops relating to youth participation. You will also coordinate Europe Week, an action week with local events in different parts of Europe. If you love creating sessions, organising events, networking or civic engagement, this is the perfect role for you! And don’t worry, we have lots of workshops and materials from our previous editions to help you.

PR & Social Media Manager

Our Social Media and Campaign has been a big part of Y Vote. This is why we are looking for someone to coordinate the pan-European campaign, and promote and raise awareness about the Y Vote project. The ideal person for this role will help maintain Y Vote’s main Social Media channels, support developing promotional content and materials, and contribute to the impact & dissemination efforts of this project. If you are up to date with the Instagram and TikTok trends, and you love Social Media planning and engaging with other young people online, then join us!

IT Manager

The IT Manager role is perfect for someone who’s both tech-savvy and creatively driven, with a passion for making websites not just functional but also visually appealing. In this role, you will mainly take care of our Y Vote website to help disseminate the project’s work, by updating the content and bringing new features. If you have a passion for graphic design, then even better!

FAQ

Our project is an initiative of members of AEGEE-Europe. However, it is not exclusively open only to members of AEGEE. If you are passionate of volunteering and our work, we strongly encourage you to apply! Once you join our project, you do indeed have to join an Antenna of AEGEE-Europe, either in your city or close to it. Once accepted into our team, we can also support you with the membership. The membership will open so many other opportunities for you, while joining one of the biggest youth-led organisations in Europe. Learn more here.

After applying and passing all the Open Call stages, you will join one of the biggest projects of AEGEE-Europe. Y Vote 2025 will take place between November 2024 – August 2025. We will let you know about the entire timeline during our first meeting.

You can apply to join our team by using the Common Open Call Form of AEGEE-Europe. Once you write your email and the basic information, choose Y Vote in the list of AEGEE teams to further apply for our team.

We currently have 6 available positions. You can of course apply to as many as you want, by mentioning your interest, experience and preference for each position in the form. Please keep in mind that you can only have one position in the end!

Once you apply by using the form, within the deadline (by October 25, 23:59), our Project Manager will contact you by email to set up a call. This will be an informal chat, to get to know each other and learn more about your interest in the project and the positions you applied for. The selection process should finalised by October 30.

Our project is entirely a volunteering activity and we have always counted on young people, passionate about our work to make a different. We are all volunteers and we usually dedicate as much time as we want. We will have a mandatory meeting (usually once per month), but most of the tasks are done independently or with other team members, in our own time. Some periods will be busy, others will have less activity, but usually 2 to 3 hours per week are more than enough to complete your tasks.
