Member of the European Parliament

José Inácio Faria was elected a Member of the European Parliament in 2014. He sits as a full Member of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and of the Delegation for relations with the countries of Central America and the Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly. He is also a substitute Member of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality.

Prior to joining the European Parliament, he presided the portuguese Earth’s Party (Partido da Terra).

MEP Faria holds a bachelor in Law by the Universidade de Lisboa, completed a post-degree in Environmental Law by the same University and is currently preparing his PhD thesis in International Public Law at the Universidad de Cáceres.
